Jacqueline B. Brooke passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025 after 90+ years of a rich and full life. Born in Camden, Ohio in 1934, she was the daughter of Chester and Jeannette (White) Blum. She grew up with fond childhood memories of living in the lush Ohio countryside of Millersburg. Her family home was quarried from her father’s stone business and was situated alongside a golf course. Her childhood was filled with exploration of this world, family trips and the discovery of her passion for horses. She carried this passion all her life.
Jackie graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a degree in interior design. With degree in hand, she found her way to Chicago and her first job. There she discovered the excitement of city life and some very special friendships. Her next stop was San Francisco where she married Dr. Michael Brooke. Their journey brought them to Colorado with two daughters and a son, all of whom Jackie dedicated her life to raising with love, patience and respect while she navigated the peaks and valleys that this life landscapes for all of us. After her children were launched, she found purpose and lasting friendships in her job at United Bank Service Company. Jackie was one of those rare individuals who could learn just about anything she set her mind to, and computer programming was a new and exciting pursuit for her. During this time, she enjoyed many exciting trips to different and beautiful places. In addition to her children, Jackie’s roots and family in Ohio were important to her throughout her life.
Jackie will be remembered for her quiet and steadfast love of her family,
her strength of will in all things, and her ability to find hilarious birthday cards.
Her artistic talents ran deep. Many a wall and shelf is graced with the beauty, shape and color of her
creativity in paintings and pottery.
We will also remember her amazing ability to host any get-together with hospitality and presentation
that would make Martha Stewart envious! She sought love and understanding above conflict.
Above all Jackie will be remembered for the love she gave to each and every one of us ... it will live on.
Especially in today’s world, she would wish that we pay that love forward and without boundaries.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kenney (her husband Foster & their son Joseph), her son Mark Brooke (his wife Carrie & their sons Matthew and David).
Memorial services will likely be held in May of 2025. God bless! obit

Jackie was one of the very first people I met when I joined UBSC in 1984. My
parents would come to Colorado for a visit and that would always include a
lunch with Jackie. My mom thought of Jackie as my "Colorado mom". She was a
talented artist with a wonderful laugh and an amazing smile. She will be
missed by many, including me.

Jackie was a beautiful person who always treated everyone who came to UBSC
with dignity and respect. She gave all the techies there a better perspective on life.
I wish I would have known more about her art background.

Sad to see another UBSC contributor passing.
Jackie worked in my group for a long time. She was great at customer service
and providing super information to our users. A great team player and self
initiating individual. Always a smiling, pleasant, friendly person.
Miss you.
